Offense:
- Dohnte Meyers – Saskatchewan Roughriders
Dohnte Meyers may have only had 5 targets in the Saskatchewan Roughriders week 3 win against the hometown Toronto Argonauts, but he was able to rack up 125 yards on 4 receptions including 2 of them for majors. He had 71 YAC and one of his TDs was a 70-yard catch which saw him turn on the jets and take it to the house. This was his best game of his short career. - Davis Alexander – Montreal Alouettes
Although he couldn’t finish the game against the Elks after injuring himself just over halfway through the 3rd quarter, Davis Alexander had an amazing game up to that point. He went 20/24 for 254 yards and 3 TDs against the Edmonton defense. The non-contact hamstring injury is going to keep Davis out of at least the week 4 matchup with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but hopefully for Als fans, he’s not out long-term. - Daniel Adeboboye – Ottawa REDBLACKS
Admittedly nothing really jumps off the page on the offensive stat sheet in the Ottawa vs Calgary monsoon matchup, but Daniel Adeboboye had a sneaky good game. With only having 10 carries as he was technically William Stanback’s back up, he was able to rumble for 96 yards leading to a very impressive 9.6 yards per carry including a long of 52 yards. The REDBLACKS running back room is pretty darn impressive.
Defense/Special Teams:
- Mario Alford – Saskatchewan Roughriders
What else can be said about Super Mario Alford’s performance this week? He was able to see the lanes and follow his blocks to (almost) give the Saskatchewan Roughriders a walk-off win in Toronto. Mario had 243 yards on 8 combined punt / kickoff returns with an average of 30.4 yards. Alford has been seemingly on a mission this season to show that he is still one of the premier returners in the league. With his latest kick off return for TD, Mario now sits 2nd all time with 4. Harvey Willie is in 1st with 5.
- Jamal Parker Jr – Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Jamal had an amazing game this week against the BC Lions. He was all over the defensive backfield recording 6 tackles, a pass break up, an interception and a fumble recovery that he took 57 yards to the endzone to score his first CFL touchdown. If he keeps this up, and I realize he plays a different position, but he could help keep the fans minds off losing Tyrell Ford to the Elks this offseason. - Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund – Montreal Alouettes
Isaac had a lunch pail type of game in Montreal’s domination of the Edmonton Elks. He may have only had one tackle, but he also had a sack and a fumble recovery. The Dartmouth, NS product is currently on a 3 game sack streak and is on pace for 18 QB sacks this season!
